It takes a team to make our programs successful. For every participant, in addition to our staff, we need a minimum of one volunteer in addition to our staff instructors. Volunteers are needed for both summer and winter seasons. No prior experience is necessary. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please review the information below and then fill out our Volunteer Application at the bottom of this page.  

To be considered for any of the following positions, you must like to work in a team environment, and be interested in enhancing the quality of life of persons with disabilities by providing outdoor adventure activities.
 
Summer Volunteers: Water starters, PWC riders, Dock Assistants, PWC Safety drivers and shoreline help are selected by the Executive Director based on a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience in specific activities offered by H2O Adaptive Sports.


Winter Volunteers: As a Winter Assistant or Instructor, you will put on a pair of skis in order to assist a participant in a lesson. Loading sit-skis onto the chairlift, taking photos, and acting as a “sweep” for your participant on the mountain are common duties of a Winter volunteers. Winter volunteers are invited and encouraged to attend instructor-led clinics provided throughout the season in order to improve their own skills with loading and tethering.
 
Winter Base Area/ Assistants: Base area assistants help providing participants and family members with information, ensuring that participant documents are completed and organized, and becoming knowledgeable of general day-to-day procedures. Common tasks performed by the Base Area volunteers would be loading/unloading and strapping/unstrapping participants in sit skis in preparation for skiing.
 
Event Support: H2O fundraising events, such as our golf outing, throughout the year. Volunteers are essential to the success of these events. Working with the Event Coordinator, common tasks include registration, event set-up, monitoring silent auctions, course marshaling, distributing food and drink, and assisting on specific holes on the course.
